Sassicaia 2019 Bolgheri Rosso DOC Tenuta San Guido
Sassicaia is one of the most famous Italian wines in the world. It comes from a 75-hectare vineyard that is particularly suited, in which the plots have different characteristics, with limestone formations and a high rocky content, a feature from which the name "Sassicaia" probably derives. The exposure of the land is to the west and southwest. Fermentation takes place in steel, at controlled temperature, with maceration on the skins for about 10 days. The aging of the Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC from Tenuta San Guido takes place in French oak barrels for 24 months, followed by a resting period in the bottle.
Tasting notes
To the eye, the wine is an intense ruby red color. On the nose it expresses itself on scents of ripe red fruits, berries and cola, aromatic herbs and toasted almonds. On the palate, the sip is austere, rich and compact. It shows a sustained body and good acid component. It progresses on notes of dried fruit, with a deep, persistent finish.
