Biancolella

Biancolella: the identity white of Ischia and the Tyrrhenian coast

The Biancolella collection gathers some of the most interesting interpretations of this historic Campanian grape variety, primarily featured in Ischia and along the most vocated coastal areas of Campania. These are white wines that precisely narrate the sea, the sapidity, and the freshness of the volcanic and hilly territories from which they originate, with styles ranging from more immediate and vertical expressions to more structured versions capable of evolving over time.

A Mediterranean grape variety, between Ischia, the Amalfi Coast, and beyond

Biancolella best expresses its personality in contexts where climate, exposures, and soils give rise to whites of great aromatic clarity. In this selection, you will find labels from Ischia DOC, Costa d’Amalfi DOC, and other coherent territorial interpretations, with wines that enhance the marine matrix and a pleasant saline imprint. Among the notable names are producers like Antonio Mazzella, Casa d'Ambra, and Tommasone Vini, fundamental interpreters of this Campanian white.

Style, characteristics, and occasions for consumption

The Biancolella wines in the collection offer different yet recognizable profiles: floral, citrus, and fruity notes, a taut and flowing palate, and a finish that often recalls stone, saltiness, and Mediterranean scrub. Some labels, such as Biancolella Vigna del Lume Ischia DOC 2024 Antonio Mazzella, Biancolella Tenuta Frassitelli Ischia Bianco DOC 2023 Casa d'Ambra, or Biancolella Ischia 2022 DOC Tommasone Vini, well represent the variety of interpretations of the grape across different vintages and territories. There are also versions in magnum format, ideal for those looking for a collectible or gift bottle.
