Description

Barbera d’Asti DOCG Bricco dell'Uccellone Magnum 2019

Barbera d’Asti DOCG “Bricco dell'Uccellone” 2019 Magnum by Braida Giacomo Bologna is a Barbera of great personality, capable of uniting aromatic richness, structure, and drinkability in a Magnum format ideal for important occasions. It is made from Barbera and authoritatively tells the story of the connection between the winery and the territory of Rocchetta Tanaro, offering a mature, deep profile with great enological charm.

Territory and wine style

The Barbera d’Asti DOCG is one of the most representative denominations of Piedmont and finds in this label one of its most recognizable expressions. The grapes come from the vineyards of Rocchetta Tanaro, an area historically suited to Barbera. Here the grape variety naturally expresses freshness, fruity intensity, and good energy, elements that in Bricco dell'Uccellone are enriched with depth and finesse thanks to targeted winemaking efforts. The vinification involves a 20-day maceration on the skins at controlled temperature, followed by 15 months of aging in 225-liter oak barrels and 12 months in bottle, resulting in a complex and harmonious wine.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it presents a very intense ruby red, enhanced by garnet reflections. The bouquet is rich and concentrated, with aromas of red fruit and small berries, accompanied by hints of mentholated spices, vanilla, and licorice. On the palate, it is generous, broad, and of great body, with an important structure well integrated by the softness of the fruit and the contribution of wood. The finish is long, enveloping, and persistent, with a balance that enhances the typical liveliness of Barbera without sacrificing elegance.

Recommended pairings

This wine pairs effectively with flavorful and structured dishes. It is perfect with braised meats, roasts, red meats, baked preparations, and main courses with rich sauces. Excellent also with aged cheeses and stuffed pasta dressed with intense sauces. The Magnum version makes Barbera d’Asti DOCG “Bricco dell'Uccellone” 2019 Magnum particularly suitable for convivial dinners and multi-course menus, where it can elegantly accompany the entire meal.

Serving temperature

Serve Barbera d’Asti DOCG “Bricco dell'Uccellone” 2019 Magnum at 17-18 °C. When served immediately after opening, a brief oxygenation in the glass or decanter may be useful, especially if you wish to best enhance its aromatic complexity.
