Description

Prètto Brunello di Montalcino

The name means “true, straightforward, sincere” and anticipates the spirit of the wine: an immediate and direct interpretation of Sangiovese, designed to engage with new generations while maintaining depth and authenticity.

Prètto comes from the same vineyards and the same manual selection in multiple passes as the Brunello di Montalcino Giodo, the flagship label of the winery that debuted with the 2009 vintage. The
difference is also defined in the cellar, during aging: from French tonneaux of 500, 700, and 2,700 liters, the best expressions are selected for Brunello Giodo that show
greater harmony between elegance, aromatic finesse, and structure destined for aging; for Prètto, however, the batches that express greater freshness and accessible tannins are chosen.
Both wines share the same production philosophy: grapes hand-picked from the hills between Sant’Angelo in Colle and Sant’Antimo, vinification in steel with macerations based on the structure and elegance desired, aging of about 30 months in tonneaux followed by six months in cement for natural rebalancing and about 18 months in bottle.
