Description

Sauvignon Miani 2024 Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC

Sauvignon Miani 2024 is a white wine with a strong personality, capable of combining territorial identity, aromatic precision, and a surprising structure for balance and finesse. Coming from the Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC, it authentically expresses the character of Sauvignon in an intense, mineral version that is deeply connected to the vineyard work of the Miani winery.

Territory and wine style

This wine is born in Friuli Venezia Giulia, in a hilly context where the marl soils, known as ponca, contribute to a very clear interpretation of the territory. The Sauvignon 100% grapes are trained in guyot and vinified with fermentation in French oak barrels, followed by 12 months of aging in barrique. The result is a white that not only focuses on varietal fragrance but also on depth, substance, and tasting complexity.

Tasting notes

In appearance, it presents a luminous straw yellow, interspersed with greenish reflections. The bouquet is rich and recognizable, with vegetal hints of sage and tomato leaf, nuances of green pepper, and a fruity component of citrus, melon, and peach. On the palate, it is fresh, round, and mineral, with an intense and well-structured sip, supported by a pleasant salinity and a long, clean persistence. The texture is soft but never heavy, with a balance that enhances both the varietal soul and the territorial one.

Recommended pairings

Sauvignon Miani 2024 pairs excellently with fish dishes, shellfish, delicate white meats, and vegetable-based preparations. It is ideal with asparagus, spring risottos, savory pies, fresh cheeses, and seafood cuisine with a not overly complex aromatic profile. Its freshness and mineral component also make it suitable for Mediterranean dishes and light preparations with aromatic herbs.

Serving temperature

To best appreciate Sauvignon Miani 2024, a serving temperature between 10 and 12 °C is recommended. A brief rest in the glass can help to bring out the aromatic nuances and the softer component of the sip with greater precision.

Why buy it

It is an interesting choice for those seeking a Friulian white with a strong identity, capable of offering aromatic intensity, structure, and drinkability in a single glass. Sauvignon Miani 2024 combines the typical character of the grape variety with the signature of a winery very attentive to enhancing the vineyard, offering an elegant, versatile wine of great satisfaction both at the table and in a more careful tasting.
