Description
Sassicaia 2015 DOC Bolgheri in half bottle format is the iconic expression of Tenuta San Guido, in the D.O.C. Bolgheri Sassicaia denomination. A great Tuscan red born from a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc, the result of vineyards located between 100 and 300 meters above sea level, on limestone soils, rich in galestro and stones, with a partial presence of clay.
The harvest took place between mid and late September, with healthy and well-matured grapes. In the winery, the processing involves careful selection, soft pressing, fermentation in steel at controlled temperature, and calibrated macerations. The wine then completes malolactic fermentation in steel and ages for 24 months in French oak barriques, of which about one third are new, before the subsequent resting in glass.
On the nose and palate, it stands out for its elegant and authoritative profile, with a balance between structure, freshness, and complexity. A label of great prestige, ideal for those seeking an important, refined wine with long persistence.
