the balance of a soil rich in clay, silt, and sand.

Nobile di Montepulciano Grandi Annate 2015 by Avignonesi is a red wine DOCG that interprets with balance and personality the Sangiovese of Montepulciano. It is born from careful work in the vineyard and cellar, with a selected harvest, spontaneous fermentation, and an aging process designed to enhance finesse, structure, and territorial identity. It is a bottle that combines aromatic complexity, freshness, and a pleasant savory imprint, ideal for those seeking a great Tuscan red with a classic yet readable profile.

Territory and wine style

This Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG comes from the Le Badelle and Banditella vineyards, located between 320 and 375 meters a.s.l. in a renowned area of Tuscany. The soils, rich in clay, silt, and limestone, with traits of fluvial origin and the presence of stones, contribute to giving the wine tension, depth, and a marked mineral imprint. The style of Avignonesi enhances the character of the territory with an elegant approach, without excess weight, keeping the expression of Sangiovese and its natural vocation for finesse at the center.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it presents a bright and inviting ruby red. The bouquet is intricate and refined, with hints of wild roses, plum, and red fruits, accompanied by nuances of sandalwood, myrrh, and cloves. On the palate, the Nobile di Montepulciano Grandi Annate 2015 shows good structure and a round texture, supported by fresh acidity that lengthens the drink. The finish is savory, persistent, and harmonious, with tannins present but well integrated into a balanced and mature whole.

Recommended pairings

The structure and freshness of this wine make it suitable for rich but well-defined dishes. It pairs well with roasted or braised red meats, game, grilled fillet, porcini mushrooms, pappardelle with meat ragù, and aged cheeses. Its elegant profile also makes it interesting with preparations from Tuscan cuisine, such as stewed game and savory traditional second courses.

Serving temperature

To best appreciate the Nobile di Montepulciano Grandi Annate 2015, a serving temperature between 18 and 20 °C is recommended. An early opening of about 1 hour can enhance the aromatic expression and the integration of the more intense components, especially if the bottle is served young compared to its ideal evolution.

Why buy it

This wine represents a solid choice for those looking to buy wine online with attention to quality, territory, and style. The combination of Sangiovese, Montepulciano, and the signature of Avignonesi offers a red with personality, suitable for both an important dinner and an occasion to celebrate with an authoritative label. The limited production and elegant setup strengthen its perceived value, making it a compelling proposal for enthusiasts and collectors.
