Wines of Etna

Etna Wines: volcanic identity and great elegance

The Etna Wines represent one of the most fascinating expressions of the Sicilian wine scene: they are born from vineyards cultivated on the slopes of the volcano and tell the story of a unique territory, characterized by altitudes, volcanic soils, and strong temperature variations. In this selection, you will find labels capable of expressing depth, freshness, and a recognizable mineral character, from reds based on Nerello Mascalese to whites of great precision and verticality.

The character of Etna wines

The Etna DOC designation is synonymous with finesse and structure. In the reds, Nerello Mascalese offers aromas of small fruits, light spices, and iron notes, with elegant tannins and a slender texture. In the whites, on the other hand, Etna shows a tense and saline face, ideal for those seeking territorial, gastronomic, and long-lived wines. Alongside the more classic labels, the collection also includes interesting interpretations from producers such as Benanti, Cottanera, Girolamo Russo, Graci, Palmento Costanzo, Passopisciaro Franchetti, and Pietradolce.

Reds, whites, and great Sicilian interpretations

The selection includes labels such as Etna Rosso DOC, Etna Bianco DOC, and other references that enhance the Sicilian essence of the volcanic area. Among the wines present, notable vintages and cuvées express different nuances of the territory, such as wines from single crus, versions from old vines, and some interpretations signed by iconic wineries of the island, including Donnafugata, Cusumano, Tasca d’Almerita, and Feudo Montoni. This variety makes the collection suitable for those who wish to explore Etna in all its shades, from the most immediate profile to the more complex and collectible one.

Pairings and occasions for consumption

Thanks to their versatility, the Etna wines lend themselves to numerous pairings. The reds pair well with roasted meats, flavorful preparations, mushrooms, and dishes from Mediterranean tradition; the whites are perfect with raw fish, shellfish, fresh cheeses, and vegetarian cuisine. The more structured and complex labels can also be chosen for special occasions, vertical tastings, or to enrich a personal cellar with wines of strong personality.
