Sassicaia 2017 Bolgheri Rosso DOC Tenuta San Guido
Climate
2017 was a very important vintage for Tenuta San Guido's Sassicaia. The year began with a winter characterised by sufficient rainfall and mild temperatures, followed by a warm and dry spring that favoured early flowering and ripening of the grapes. The summer was characterised by warm days and cool nights, creating optimal conditions for the development of pigments and aromas in the grapes. However, in mid-September, the region was hit by heavy rains, which created a challenge for winegrowers in managing their vineyards, requiring careful grape selection during the harvest.
Harvest
The 2017 harvest for Sassicaia was characterised by a rigorous selection of grapes to ensure maximum quality. The harvest was successfully completed, allowing Tenuta San Guido to obtain excellent raw material for Sassicaia 2017.
