La fortuna aiuta i prodi! Questo era sicuramente il pensiero intelligente del Cav. Prof. Ludwig Barth von Barthenau, quando portò il Pinot Nero su un altopiano sovrastante il paese di Egna. Fiuto e curiosità lo spinsero ad coltivare questa varietà  con successo!

Oggi, con la Vigna S. Urbano, abbiamo la fortuna di disporre di vigne Pinot Nero dell età di quasi 70 anni, le quali danno non solo grappoli più piccoli e spargoli, ma anche più concentrati nel gusto. Le uve delle viti della Vigna S. Urbano presso la tenuta Barthenau sono destinate esclusivamente all omonimo Pinot Nero.

Nel 2008 é nata l idea di destinare una piccola parte delle uve della Vigna S. Urbano per la produzione di un unico e nobile  Metodo classico Rosé.
