Vermentino Vendemmia Tardiva 2020 IGT Isola dei Nuraghi Capichera

The wine has a straw-yellow colour with golden flashes. The aromas are intense and enveloping; reminiscent of orange blossom, lemon peel, dried herbs, lavender and hawthorn flowers. In the finish, the nose still perceives hints of wisteria, thyme and citrus honey. In the mouth, the wine is refined and elegant, with a pronounced, soft body. It is a dry wine with round, honeyed flavours that turn to a fresh, bright citrus fruitiness; there is a full fruitiness with firm, sun-ripened flesh. The finish is long, caressing the palate, with clear traces of honey and cane sugar.

Capichera Vendemmia Tardiva is a great thoroughbred wine, a triumph of Mediterranean aromas, where the voluptuous scents of orange blossoms mingle with the light aromas of the herbs of the arid summer pastures. Pairings: grilled or stewed fish with tomato, with hot vegetable starters and cheese creams; ricotta, Sardinian yoghurt garnished with honey.

It is the first Vermentino in the world and also the first Sardinian white wine to be vinified in barriques. Vendemmia Tardiva is a wine made from Vermentino grapes from our vineyards harvested late.
